Portugal has been ranked as the best place in Europe, and the fourth in the world, for retirees. According to the 2022 Annual Global Retirement Index from International Living, Portugal once again has been highlighted as a top destination for people from around the world to retire to.

Algarve and Porto are in the Top 10 of the world's luxury residential markets, according to The Wealth Report.

The Algarve won the award for the best beach destination in Europe, announced this Friday, 22 October, the organization of those considered as the “Oscars of Tourism”. Hotel units in the region received eight more awards.

The rules of the game will change as of 1 January 2022 (with Decree-Law nº. 14/2021) for those who want to enter Portugal through a Golden Visa. To get their visa, property investors will have to buy properties in the interior regions of Portugal or in the Archipelagos of Madeira or Azores.
