29 May, 2025 What's On

Wine, Music & Celebration -Between the 6th and 9th of June, Lagoa city will once again host another edition of the Lagoa Wine Show, a free entry event that has established itself as one of the biggest wine events in the south of Portugal.

Recently awarded the “Event of the Year” prize by the Portuguese Wine Municipalities Association (AMPV), the event reinforces its importance in promoting wine, the Algarve identity and the hospitality that characterises the region.

According to the Lagoa City Council, the entity promoting the event, the Lagoa Wine Show 2025, “is a privileged stage for the meeting of Algarve wines and other wine regions of national and international renown, promoting a true cultural and oenological dialogue”.

Alongside Algarve wines, some of the country's most emblematic regions will be represented, such as Alentejo, Douro, Dão, Vinhos Verdes, Lisbon, Bairrada and Setúbal. Also noteworthy is the international participation with wines from Moldova and Georgia, reinforcing the cosmopolitan dimension of the initiative.

Inspired by the “Algarve Golden Terroir” concept, the event seeks to value viticulture as a cultural expression and driver of sustainable economic development, promoting Algarve know-how, agricultural heritage and the region's endogenous products.

During the four days of the event, the public will have access to guided tastings, showcooking, chats with winemakers and producers, and will be able to explore the diversity of grape varieties and terroirs present in the national wine scene.

The program will also be enriched by a varied cultural program, where fado will have special prominence, along with shows and street entertainment.

For the Municipality of Lagoa, the Lagoa Wine Show “is a strategic instrument to position the Algarve as an excellent wine tourism destination, promoting the connection between wine tradition and cultural innovation”.
