Over the last 16 years, Prosandart has held what was the Biggest Sand Sculpture Festival in the World, FIESA in Algoz Algarve, which in 2019 gave way to SAND CITY, in Lagoa, is currently the Biggest Sand Sculpture Park in the World. It is also considered one of the best atractions in the Algarve for being unique and different, occupying an area of 6 hectares, building by more than 60 artists from the several continents coming to carve about 50.000 tons of sand.

The Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) won on Sunday the 23rd February 2020 the 46th Volta ao Algarve Cofidis, imposing itself in the final time trial, an exercise of 20.3 kilometers, in Lagoa. The Belgian rider rode above 50.504 km/h to close the 20.3 kilometres in 24m07s – the previous best time was 24m09s and was set by Geraint Thomas in 2018. The second in today’s TT was the world champion, Rohan Dennis (Team INEOS), 10 seconds from the winner. Last year’s time trial winner Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) closed the podium at 19 seconds.

This year occupies the third place. The readers 'questionnaire for the 32nd Readers' Choice Awards placed Portugal behind Indonesia and Thailand (1st and 2nd place, respectively). According to the publication, this year 600,000 registered readers on the Condé Nast Traveler portal have revealed their preferences about the best countries to travel for tourism, but also about the best hotels, spas, cities, islands, cruises, airlines. , etc. In the ranking of countries as the best tourist destinations in the world only two other European destinations are listed: Greece, in seventh place, and Italy, in ninth.
