The readers of 'Condé Nast Traveler' elected Portugal the third best destination in the world in 2019

From 2018 to 2019, Portugal climbed 15 places in the ranking of the best tourist destinations in the world, chosen by readers of "Condé Nast Traveler ’, a renowned North American travel publication. This year occupies the third place.  The readers 'questionnaire for the 32nd Readers' Choice Awards placed Portugal behind Indonesia and Thailand (1st and 2nd place, respectively). According to the publication, this year 600,000 registered readers on the Condé Nast Traveler portal have revealed their preferences about the best countries to travel for tourism, but also about the best hotels, spas, cities, islands, cruises, airlines. , etc. In the ranking of countries as the best tourist destinations in the world only two other European destinations are listed: Greece, in seventh place, and Italy, in ninth.

A study cared by Imovirtual reveals that the best parishes to live in the Algarve are Lagoa and Carvoeiro, and safety is one of the aspects most appreciated by the respondents. On the opposite side, the three parishes with lower scores are Olhão, Quelfes and Alvor. These are the conclusions of an online questionnaire, conducted between April and September of 2018, to residents in the national territory with the purpose of objectively assessing their expectations about the quality of life in the different parishes of the country.

The Algarve received on Saturday, June 08 the “best Beach Destination 2019” award, by the World Travel Awards ceremony, which gathers the vote of the main leaders of the travel and tourism industry worldwide. This is the sixth time that the Algarve has achieved this distinction, which has already happened in the editions of 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 - and a record in awarding this award, since no other destination has reached this number of nominations.
